N1OG POTA Bag
Typically I have a folding aluminum table and a pod rocker folding chair as my station base. The radio, battery and tablet all fit on the small folding table with room for the keyboard. I use the Quirky QRP reference mat to set everything on and it is handy to reference common ham info.
Operating portable is a learning experience. While this works very well for me, it may not suit you and your needs. Experiment and learn what is best for you, and do not be afraid to change things.
This makes up the primary items I need for an activation. I carry other "extra" items to make things easier for myself or to fill another need. One example being the extra 50' of coax that is typically not used, but should the 15' of RG-316 not be enough then at least I have the coax to still get on air. The tankara fishing rod that is used as a 7m mast is also not usually needed, but very handy if it is. The whole bag loaded with extras included is around 25lbs.
Anyone is welcome to join me on an activation! If you have a Yaesu mic that is all you need to bring. If you don't then we can just share :-)
Have fun!
