POTA KIT

I repurposed a backpack I already had. This can hold a Helinox table on top, two Helinox chairs in the side pouches. The front compartment holds a maxpedition pouch with a battery bank for changing my phone and iPAD. The main compartment holds my Yaesu FT-891, Bioenno battery, antenna and any additional support equipment.

The small teal bag holds my EFHW and all supporting equipment. The red bag is a Weaver arborist throw line and 12oz throw bag. I have repurposed a backpack that I already owned for my needs. It is spacious enough to hold a Helinox table on top, two Helinox chairs in the side pouches, and a maxpedition pouch in the front compartment which has a battery bank for charging my phone and iPad. The main compartment of the backpack holds my Yaesu FT-891, Bioenno battery, antenna, and other support equipment. I also carry a small teal bag which contains my EFHW and all the necessary supporting equipment. Additionally, I keep a red Weaver arborist throw line and a 12oz throw bag in a separate red bag.

Furthermore, I keep a Maxpedition pouch in the small front pouch of the backpack. The Maxpedition pouch contains a battery bank that helps me recharge my phone and iPad while on the go. Additionally, I carry a pair of Knipex pliers, a laminated band frequency chart, and a Parks On the Air brochure to give out to those curious about my work. Total packed weight is just over 25 pounds.

I wear a Heil BM-17 headset as it helps me to hear weaker stations clearly. It also keeps the radio sounds confined to me only, without disturbing others. Apart from this, I carry a watt meter, antenna analyzer, EFHW, PTT (Push To Talk), RG316 coax, BNC 259 barrel connectors in a small pouch, along with small bungees, cordage, and gloves, all stored in a teal bag. The same bag also holds a black pouch that contains various cords for my phone, iPad, backup hand mic, etc.

I keep a MFJ-1913 28-foot telescoping fiberglass mast and three tent stakes in my vehicle. This is useful in case I am in an area without trees or a park that prohibits throwing antennas into trees. If there is nothing to put the antenna up into, or lean the mast against. I have a WRC (Wolf River Cole), which can be used along with a mag mount on my vehicle if it's too cold or I prefer to operate from my vehicle in a parking area.
