Spring POTA Meetup

  • Temple Mountain State Reservation (map)

The Granite State Amateur Radio Club is happy to announce our Spring Parks on the Air meet-up.

We will be gathering at the Temple Mountain State Reservation (US-11848). The park is on 101 just east of Peterborough across the street from the entrance to Miller State Park. Suppose you are not familiar with the location. In that case, Temple Mountain provides a large parking area with plenty of space to accommodate vehicles and lots of opportunity to get creative with your antennas (many trees on the parking lot's perimeter). If you’re ambitious, you can even hike up to the summit of Holt Peak or Temple Mountain.

Please note that this location is a trailhead with a large parking area. There are no picnic tables available, so plan ahead and bring your own chairs/tables. Also, FYI, the parking area is at approximately 1,300 feet ASL if you want to try some VHF/UHF contacts.

This is a fun social event and a great opportunity for POTA veterans to activate a new park. More importantly, if you are new to the hobby or just curious about POTA, this is a perfect chance to come, ask questions, get on the air, and earn a nifty POTA award!

The official POTA event runs April 19-20 UTC. Yes, this is Easter weekend. We will be gathering on Saturday, April 19th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM EDT. However, you are certainly welcome to arrive early and stay late.
