Meeting held at the Bedford Safety Complex.

Officer’s Reports Treasurer: Lou reported GSARA has $988.49 in the bank. Two outstanding bills: equipment insurance policy - $92.14 and 2-year web hosting - $59.00. A motion to approve was made by Andy (K1VO), seconded by Charlie (K1CRF) and passed. Secretary: Martin read the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion to approve was made by Andy (K1VO), seconded by Charlie (K1CRF) and passed. Membership: Two new members to be voted upon – Al Stewart (N1SMB) and Daniel Ketchie (KB1TDK). Motion to accept Al & Daniel made by Charlie (K1CRF), seconded by Barry (WB1EDI) and was approved. Committee Reports Contests: Barry reminded everyone that the upcoming CW/QSO party and January VHF sweepstakes. He will continue to send 1-2 emails a week about upcoming contests as well info on interesting websites. VE Session: Next session is Saturday, January 30th at 9:00 AM in the Bedford Safety Complex. Bob (K1MLR) reported we have 7 VEs lined up to administer the tests with 4 people registered to date. Barry cited a recent ARRL report about a record number of new hams in 2009 (30,000+)! Old Business Donation: Martin read a letter received from the Bedford Police Benevolent Association in appreciation of GSARA’s gift last month. Generator: No progress to report this month. Andy (K1VO) confirmed that an extension cord reaches from the current generator to the repeater. New Business GSARA Shirts: Martin will coordinate a GSARA embroidered shirt order with the same vendor used previously. The shirts are long-sleeved in a blue-twill/oxford (dress-shirt like). Shirts will be customized with your name and call sign. Reports from folks are that the shirts run small… Cost per shirt: · Men’s: S-XL $25.00 each, 2XL $28.00 · Women’s: S-XL $28.00 each If you are interested, please see Martin at the February meeting with your shirt size, name, callsign, and money. Kit Contest: Dennis proposed a kit building contest for June – details to follow. NEAR-Fest: Andy (K1VO) requested the club have a table at NEAR-Fest (April 30-May 1). 2-3 tables available to members to sell their equipment, sell club antennas, BBQ, etc. Please bring ideas to the February meeting. Future Programs: - · February: Martin has invited GM-ARES (K1RHM and K1AKS) to present
- · March: Tom (AC1J) and Bob (K1MLR) asked to do a presentation/demo of RTTY/PSK31

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM. Remainder of evening was spent enjoying Charlie’s (K1CRF) presentation on Soldering PL-259s.
